Week 3 May 17 to May 22, 2010

This week, we have traveled in New Mexico, Utah and Arizona. We visited Canyon du Chelly, a ghost town, Canyonlands National Park Needles District, Moab Utah, Arches National Park and Zion National Park. In Arches, we rode our bikes among the beautiful red rocks. In Zion, we visited our friends Dotty and Frenchy Lebel. We have traveled senic routes 12, 24 and 14 in Utah - beautiful views. Weather is good, temperatures range from 90s to 38 degrees yesterday at 10,000 feet along scenic route 14 near Zion National Park. All is well - turning NORTH now, heading for Alaska.

Hail, Smokey the Bear and White Sands Natl Park

We traveled from Carlsbad Caverns to Roswell, NM where we visited the Alien museum (as in "flying saucer"). Then, on the way to Smokey the Bear's gravesite, we hit a terrible hail storm. Over 4 inches of hail in ten minutes, and yes, damage to the truck and camper. From the gravesite, we visited White Sands National Park. A wonderful trip through scenic roads in New Mexico.

Hi, all. We left Nokomis May 5, spent two days in the Florida panhandle, through Alabama, Mississippi, Louisianna (where we had a great Cajun dinner and music evening), then on to San Antonio, TX. We visited the Riverwalk and the Alamo. From there, drove north toward Carlsbad Cavern through Guadalupe Mountains National Park. The caverns are immense and beautiful. We did three tours today in the caves. We have driven almost two thousand miles so far. The truck and camper are working perfectly, and we are excited about the trip! Here are some photos of our trip.

Bonjour a tous. Voici quelques photos.
